Ashley Guite, Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario, offering trauma-informed therapy and compassionate mental health support

Ashley is a Registered Psychotherapist and certified Trauma Integration Clinician, who’s area of expertise is trauma focused care. Ashley received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brock University, as well as her Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Ashley completed her internship at the not-for-profit Attachment and Trauma Treatment Center for Healing, where she worked with trauma and attachment-trauma focused therapies. Ashley’s treatment approach is based on a holistic model of health care, and is pleased to offer trauma informed psychotherapy to clients. This treatment approach includes: Trauma focused & attachment based therapies, client-centered, compassionate inquiry, somatic psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and emotion focused therapy. This approach also offers the benefits of mindfulness, DBT skills, grounding techniques and meditations to address emotional dysregulation.

Alexia is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, working closely under the supervision of Ashley Guite, RP. Her work is somatically-inclined, psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and client-centered, with a particular focus on nervous system awareness and regulation. She also integrates approaches such as CBT, DBT, attachment theory, mindfulness, and parts work when they are supportive and aligned with clients’ needs.

Alexia works with older teens, adults, seniors, and caregivers. In her therapeutic style, Alexia is attentive to patterns, meaning, and the ways past and present experiences show in the body and nervous system. She brings a warm, grounded presence and will gently challenge clients when it feels supportive. Her aim is to create a space that feels safe, non-judgmental, and responsive to where clients are in their process.

Alexia supports clients navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, cultural or bicultural identity questions, relationship challenges, sleep disturbances, and perfectionism. She values psychoeducation as part of the therapeutic process, believing that understanding our nervous system, emotional patterns, and coping responses can be empowering and supportive of lasting change. A central focus of her work is helping clients build awareness and feel more resourced and empowered in their day-to-day lives.
